YouTube Honors, What is it and how do I get my video Honored?

Let me explain to you what an honor is and how to get them for your video. In short an honor is when your video is the most viewed within a 24 hour period of time. Your video is ranked against other videos in the same category. As soon as you upload your video the timer has started, you need to get as many views as possible within the next 24 hours to get the honors and rank within your category. Now lets first take a look at what a YouTube Honor looks like:

This particular video has 3 Honors in 3 different sub-categories. This means they ranked #115, #97 and #101 within the subcategories they were in.

How is your video Ranked?

When you first upload your video to YouTube you’re given the option to choose your category. This is the category of videos your video will be ranked against. If you have more views than the other videos in your category you’ll get ranked higher.

Notice the #1 video has had 28,742 views in order to be the #1 video in it’s category. Now if we visit the video and look at their honors this is what you’ll see:
